Is there a new ArosMax? The website still seems to contain the old one.

Max 0.4.0 is still 'pending' - while it'll include many goodies, it'll be similar to 0.2.0 as far as installation goes ...

There's no quick & easy way to install AROS at the mo. Max includes scripts that do everything after you sort a formatted partition - DFerg's handy instructions go like this:

HDToolbox:

1. dlb click on "ata.device"

2. select dirve (one click, should highlight the drive)

3. click "Create Table", select "PC-MBR"

4. Click "Add Entry" You should now have a "Partition 0" make sure this partition is hightlighted.

5. Click "Create Table", select "RDB"

6. Click "Change Type", select "Aros RDB Partition Table"

7. dlb click "Patition 0"

8. Click "Add Entry", You should now have DH0, make sure this partition is hightlighted.

9. Click "Create Table", select "RDB"

10. Click "Change Type", select "Fast Filesystem Intel"

11. Click "Switches", select "Bootable = Yes" and "Automount = Yes"

12. save changes, you will see a "*S" to the left of the partition if the changes have not already been saved. To save them you have to navigate back to the "Drive" on the first screen. then "Save Changes"

13. warmboot (might be cold boot here, I don't remember)

14. Navigate back to DH0 and make sure it is still set to "Type Fast Filesystem Intel", if not redo and save again, warmboot (again might be coldboot here).

15. Navigate to the "Work/extras/docs/Aros-Max/S " folder and then Right Mouse Click and select "Warnderer/Shell"

16. From Prompt type - "Format64 dh0 FFS Quick"
* note - do not name the partition "Aros-Max" this is bad.

17. type "execute oneall" this will run the install script, it may take some time.

18. type "execute install_grub"

19. You may at this time choose to edit the "menu.lst" file so that Aros boots directly to Warnder without stoping at the Grub Menu. That file is located in "boot/grub"

reboot

Hope this helps

ok...I got the pc now . I downloaded arox max 0.20 and aros min 0.40 images. I burned both to CD. then I booted from aros max 0.20 CD . Works fine until here. Now I started HD Toolbox from CD to partition drive. when I select ata.device it shows in the right window only "Units:1" I can mark it but the create table button stays gray. so , how can I partition the hd then ?

Off the top of my head you have to double-click on either ata.device or units:1 ... can't remember which ...

It takes a little bit of unexpected clicking around to get the right buttons to be click-able, at one point you have to go backwards before you can save changes.
