I want to create a list with computers that are (almost) fully supported to make it easier to start with Aros.

The list I have made up to now:
Samsung N10
Toshiba Lattitude Pro A200
Toshiba Sattelite Pro A200
Ares ares-shop.de
Samsung N310
Acer Asoire One A110, A150, ZG5
Samsung N145plus
Dell Latitude 2100

Do you know models I can add that are supported?

mt12345: Good that you make the list. From the list you have provided, there are some computers there that are not fully supported. Dell 2100 does at least not have supported wi-fi chip and it can not be changed. The usb network card solution would solve that though.

It's tricky to find fully supported laptop. For example I had 2x dell d420 and 1x d430, each of them had different wireless card installed. Some laptops share the same model number but have different graphics chipset (intel/nvidia) Some laptops seem to have video card supported but crash when opengl app is launched (mentioned dell's and samsung nc10) etc etc...

I have just installed AspireOS on 2005 15inch sony vaio laptop.
Initial tests look very good.
geforce 7400 (gears=800fps), hdaudio, work.
ethernet should work (intel100) but wifi doesn't.
(I think I have spare atheros5000 card somewhere).
Will be added to list soon.

I'm still waiting to see a Laptop supported that has built in Nvidia video and a CPU that's at least 2Ghz.

mt12345: Also rem.. that Satellite A200 have to be of a specific version. Else there will be problems. Look at my hardware page for exact info.

The Sony laptop sounds interesting. Hope it can be another great AROS laptop alternative.

thank you for the interesting list...

We should come down to a short list with full supported system (from netbook up to desktop) where installation and configuration is no problem (need no manual configuration). I think of beginners who are interested to buy dedicated hardware.
