hello,
I'm on ubuntu x64 running 32b linux hosted AROS. My comp' is a Dell M4400 with nvidia 1700. I downloaded nightly builds from 20130104 for 32bits and 20120105 for x64. ==== BackingStore pb : I've put
Option "Backingstore" "True"
in all device sections of /etc/X11/xorg.conf but... even with that I have refreshing problems (blank parts in AROS screen) when I cat xorg logs I get;
oanemous@oanemous-linuxbox:~$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep Backing
The problem is the same on 64bits version of AROS. === fullscreen pb : When launched with --fullscreen option, 32bits version don't go in fullscreen. Sysinfos inside AROS tells that the option is used. In 64 bits, the fullscreen is okay. === the last but not the least : When I change resolution from inside the ScreenMode Prefs to the native resolution of my screen (1440*900), it works ok until I shutdown AROS and try to launch it again (or simply restart it). Then : I've the boot that begin, and... instead of showing wanderer, it shows... nothing and stop on this :
BITS PER PIXEL = 24
Note that the problem does not appear with another resolution, just the native one. Note that when I come back to gnome, I have to set my resolution again cause it stays on the one choosed inside AROS. This problem does not appear with 32bits version. === it's frustrating :) On one side, I have an AROS that does not go in fullscreen but works well of we except the backingstore pb (so it is unusable in fact), on the other side, I have a bad resolution and a fullscreen... any ideas ? thanx, OAN3/TWMM

Hello,
Very strange fact : I crashed my X Server after too much playing with nvidia-settings and /etc/X11/xorg.conf I needed to get back to the original configuration, and... tataaaa, refreshing problems disapeared. Do you beleive this ? Just magical ? Other problems are still here. No one have a clue for --fullscreen mode ? Is this because I'm running a 64 bits Ubuntu and a 32 bits AROS ? Thanx, OAN3/TWMM.

Sigh, it works for me, but you'll find some threads in this forum where people are telling that fullscreen doesn't work .

hello,
yea, i've looked at the threads before posting. noone has a real answer. it doesn't please me to "downgrade" to an older version. anyway, i'll try to make icaros work on linux hosted to see if this is a problem with the nightly build or with my linux distro (ubuntu 12.04 x64). anyway, it's maybe sufficient for dev, i dunno, have before to get some experience with aros/amikit/amigaforever... :) cheers,
