Because of the demand,

I have uploaded a AEROS image done on a real Pi.
Please test and keep me informed if it is working on your model.

I have used the first released model.

Changes since experimental sd-image:
Switched to debian wheezy
Direct boot into AROS hosted (you can log out and launch lxde)
Netsurf will be the primary browser (midori is also present)
Openoffice has been replaced by LibreOffice

Next release will be merged with r4 which means less linux apps.. instead i will release app package (just the icons with an installer script for each app).

Still uploading... roughly 5 hours from now.

Perchè abilitato solo agli utenti registrati ? il visitatore di passaggio non appassionato dei sistemi AROS e non esperto nella lingua inglese potrebbe allontanarsi.
---------------------------------------------
Why enabled only to registered users? the passing visitor not keen AROS system and not an expert in the English language could be moved.

@amiga

maybe. This is the only way to keep some @$$4ole$ away. I just don't like to share with a few guys.

As soon this images is tested and I upload a new one, this one will be made available for everyone.

Well... 250gb/day limit has been reached..now it is blocked again for 3 days.
Need to sort my files on several places, so i can upload it to a place with unlimited bandwidth.

Tomorrow I will upload a new Image and this time without traffic limit.

And here a controversial discussed move to get some funding:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/AEROS-for-Rasp ... puter&hash=item232bfee7c8

What I plan with the money:

1. Get more webspace with unlimited traffic
2. Pay a project and Fabio for some coding.
3. Start bounties for porting existing AROS apps to ARM branch.
4. Start a HostGL bounty targeted to the ARM A220 MESA driver

-> This enables to switch to ARM in a very short time.

Also I would like to reward Kalamatee for his work.

So I used ebay instead ares-shop to make the number of sales transparent.

OK Im quite busy this week but made quick test.

My Pi model is BH1310 - based on hynix H9TKNNN4GDMP chip - connected to network via ethernet.

I do realise this is beta version - Aros on the top of the full Raspbian distro - final release will be stripped down/built from scratch (lxde session removed, Xterm instead of lxterminal etc)

1. If you are not in the US you may want to switch to your local mirror - I changed ftp.us to ftp.uk in sources.list
2. I reduced number of desktops to 1 - this way linux desktop is completely hidden.
3. Changed NLIMC to CLIM in openbox config to match window buttons on both sides (linux/aros).
4. Installed gmrun and assigned to ALT+F2 - easy launch linux apps (lx command doesnt work??)
5. Then added lxpanel to autostart - it will be easier especially at the beginning, launching and managing linux apps.
6. Increased aros memory to 128

IMO Pi is to slow for the task - best use as server.
Something like Allwinner A10 (Cortex A8/Mali400) mentioned in another thread would suit much better.
(A10-based $69 netbook as an alternative to famous Aspire150)

There is alternative to Debian:
I was using Slitaz linux x86 (stable branch) as a base for Aros - very good results but the Pi version at the moment is server-only (command line).

Can I suggest contacting Slitaz developers? Maybe bounty for Pi-Slitaz?
