I can't get the archive to download. Is the server up?

Just tried it, it worked for me. If you'd like I can mirror it somewhere.

Just tried the program with a brand new install of Icaros 2.1.1 on my Compaq laptop (internal HD with Windows gone, new HD with AROS in its place ) and the text in the search bar is working fine. Looks like my other machines need a refreshed install...

Cheers,
Nigel.

Looks ike this may be very good timing - has anyone else had a problem recently when viewing Google maps in OWB? For me on all my machines it's not updating properly when scrolling the map and zooming in/out (map tiles not loading - just staying as grey squares). I've tired various spoofing options and Firefox seems the best but that's stll not working when scrolling - I have to force the tiles to reload by changing the zoom level.

Cheers,
Nigel.

I'm having the same problem here. I'm still on Icaros 2.03 and don't know if this is the problem. With OWB 1.16 Google maps seems to work ok.

I don't think 2.0.1 is the problem - I tried on 2.1.1. This must be a fairly recent change by Google - I'm sure it was working a couple of months ago.

Cheers,
Nigel.

I tried using Mapparium in earnest today but hit a big problem. After doing a search and then moving and zooming the map page a few times, it crashes my machine hard - the display garbles like an '80s C64 turbo-loading screen and the only way to reset the machine is via the power button. I repeated the operation four times, each time with the same result. This is on my Comapq, Intel GMA graphics, fresh install of Icaros 2.1.1. When I get a moment I'll repeat the test on my other machines and see if the same thing happens.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Interesting.
Is it always the same search? If yes maybe you can tell me (something related to this search?).
An other reason, maybe your memory is full. Keep an eye on the memory when it crashes, or short before... how many tiles are in memory, how much free memory is available. In Prefs you can set the maximum numbers of tiles to keep in memory (default should be 200) maybe you want to lower it to 100 or so, do not go too low (<50), or the program will keep refreshing the tiles .

Hi ALB42,
Just tried a different serach with the same results. I kept an eye on memory - 1.8 GB when the crash occured. However, I also just tried the same actions on my Samsung netbook and it worked absolutely fine. Both the Samsung and the Comapq are using Intel GMA graphics but different chipsets - the Comapaq is the 945 and Samsung the 3100 if I remember correctly. Both were using the same USB wireless network dongle. However, I have yet to update the Samsung to Icaros 2.1.1; it's still on 2.0. I'll be updating at some point this week and then I'll retest.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Edit: something else I've noticed - just before the crash the program slows right down (in terms of loading tiles and display referesh).
