Hi RoMancer...

If I am not too curious... who are you talking to? =)

I'm interested in a AROS SSH client as hell, ehm, as well.

kind regards

About terminal emulation: I don't know how these things work, but it seems it is needed for example to run midnight commander. Neil, can you describe in more detail your idea? I would hate to write code myself that is already written.

Term already emulates many terminal modes and has a lot of features, but is oriented towards serial/modem connections. If we could replace its serial connectivity with SSH connectivity, in theory we'd have a very good SSH terminal.

I have access to and permission to release the source of both VLT and the associated telnet.device which could be helpful. ;)

Hi,

with nightly build ABIv0 of 2017-01-23 I'm making some progress here.

I now can ssh to another machine, get the remote shell prompt, enter a command - but that's it. Hitting return/newline doesn't have an effect, command not executed.
Tried AROS shell, and sh.

Any ideas?

Btw., I'd still like to figure out what's going on with posixc.library (see my previous post, #21). I put the posixc.library that's supplied with ssh package into a separate directory, and have a "assign LIBS: add" to that directory. Next I renamed SYS:Libs/posixc.library, and put the one that's supplied with ssh in place of it. Both attempts led to the aforementioned result.

Sorry for the issues, but it's a great news you're going on with this.
