DELL latitiude D520 is a real cool laptop for AROS. Only thing that is needed is to change the wifi card to a AROS supported type. Can be done very easy and found on e-bay for almost nothing.
I will do more videos in the future running from this great laptop. Enjoy!

I use those old latitudes a lot. Were moving from the D series to the E series at home now, my daughter has the last D series and I plan to pick up another E for her next week then the D420 can be my AROS box.

I could never get AROS video working right on my C400 though so its a Linux box.

This is a great demo thanks, I learnt a few new things about AROS here.

The C400 had a fairly finicky display. I found many linux distros and other OS's that wouldn't work with it, but when it ran properly it was a neat little machine.

The D series were also solid machines. The E6320 is also a great machine, but I'd avoid the E6400. The early ones especially had a lot of problems with the keyboard ribbon cable connector, and the trackpoints were rubbish at best. The E6410 onwards are OK, though overall not one of Dells better efforts.

Oh but one thing about the E6400 IIRC is that the onboard Intel display is supported by the AROS driver, though in my limited testing I didn't have much luck with the audio.

I had to keep an old version of the intel driver for a long time until I found a workaround in the newer.

My main machine right now is an E6230. I buy these "refurbished" from the local MicroCenter store for ~$200

Eugene: What do you mean with workaround ? Are you using E6230 with AROS ? It got IntelHD4000.

The workaround was for the newer Linux driver on the c400.
I'm running hosed on the 6230 under Slackware.
