Folio is the name of text editor written in javascript. It is designed for MorphOS OWB but works fine with AROS browser too. It runs in browser but no internet connection is needed. Just open in OWB file folio.html an play :) Archive to download from Morphzone: http://folio.morph.zone/folio_morphos.zip

Well, much better than waiting for "Final Writer" or crashing with "Cinamon Writer"

Very nice. But trying to load a file made the tool box disappear, showing a message about downgrading OWB to v 1.23. Not too nice...

Waiting for Libre office, any other option is a waste of time and resources.

A bit harsh to describe everything that's not Libre Office as a waste of time. Libre Office has a large amount of dependencies that would need to be ported.

@paolone

Yes, I see this message for a moment, but later the message disappears and I dont notice any problems in the editor's work. I can save files and load them. I think this requester is for MorphOS OWB 1.24 users which browser causes with some problem. Editing folio.html file we can "unplug" this requester. If you open folio.html in Firefox (linux, windows) you see this text: "If you can read this text, you are likely running version 1.24 of Odyssey Web Browser on MorphOS. Please use version 1.23 instead" too, but everything works ok.

Not my intention, to sound harsh, but sometimes I think it's better to say what you think it's best, even if it hurts a bit. Resources are very limited. Libreoffice is wonderful and needs to be used as much as possible to become a worldwide alternative ot M$ office (now with that obscene "yearly license") so, why trying to reinvent the wheel? Can you imagine how many people will be attracted and start using Aros on a daily basis if we have Libre Office? I bet thousands

I know, and I have a slight idea about how hard it is to port, but it puts more on my side: every developer interested in a word/calc/presentation editor should row in the same direction, no one will get a viable product to fulfill today needs.

And if I was a developer, I would ask myself: what do I want, to be the only dev of a program which almost no one will use, or contribute to something essential and a landmark for the platform which will be remenbered and used forever? ;)

Sadly porting Libre Office is a huge undertaking and I would love to see it on the Aros. I would suggest a bounty of around $10,000 dollars may entice action but not less sadly.

I would expect the QT bounty would need taking up first but I could be wrong.

However, I would donate to that if one was setup but only once developers showed interest or it is dead money.
