Does one exist? It might come in handy!

Anyone want to write one?

Cheers,
Gaz.

Probably not much chance of that. Platform ports won't happen that often and you already have to be pretty competent to make it happen; its reasonable to expect that you can read the code from the other ports and base your stuff on those.

Yeah, Rob appear to be right, but at least we have some words on how to start this:
http://aros.sourceforge.net/documenta ... m-development.php#porting

What we have (and what I think Keen was referring to) is an version of Spot's Porting Guide for Dummies for OS4. Mazze adapted it for AROS and feel free to enhance it. You can find it here:

AROS Porting Guide

EDIT: Ahhh.. now I see, its just too late for me.. just check Keen´s post above and forget mine.

Craid, TY - not quite - when AROS was ported, he`d need to make applications work too, so the link you`ve put also makes sense.
So,
http://aros.sourceforge.net/documenta ... m-development.php#porting
is about how to start with AROS port to some architecture, and
http://aros.sourceforge.net/documentation/developers/porting.php
to make some apps work.

So,

...and please keep in mind that this documentation is VERY VERY VERY VERY...

for(;;) printf("VERY ");

OLD. Neither does it fit the current situation (there is no i386-emul beeing most up-to-date. Heck, i386-emul directory does not exists anymore ;)) nor does it fit current build system.

No, we do not have better documentation at the very moment. I might want to publish one on my blog soon ;)

Any pointers, hints or advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated Michal.

Cheers,
Gaz.

Michal, it will be great if you do that. Then I`ll try to read and update our docs.
