Hi,

The archives for a new snapshot candidate can be downloaded here. I'd be grateful if people could do some basic testing on them, even just to check if they boot or not. Please add reports to this thread. Thanks.

First, it boots perfectly in Qemu (not had time to burn a CDROM).

Then, I'd call for a next-day-snapshot, as it should contain the polish keymap as well, and as our AROS Polish Team is very active around!

I noted there was no SYS:WBStartup directory, nor DEVS:DosDrivers (nor SYS:Storage/DosDrivers either). As those are "typical" 3.1 features, I'd like to see them explicitly, for a Classic user to be able to compare.

Nor AirCos nor the pcnet32 driver are built by default. VMWare is using this driver (the last version of Qemu too).

OK, I'll replace it with tonight's build.

I don't know how to get the build system to create empty directories.

Aircos has lvalue casts that will break under GCC 4, so it would cause problems for some people if it were built by default. BTW, I noticed that there's something weird with the text encoding in the Aircos sources. SVN appears to be treating them as binary for a start.

AFAIK pcnet32.device, like nforce.device, breaks the hosted build because of missing I/O macros. I've been thinking that we should have our own I/O macros instead of borrowing Linux's. I have some that could be used.

They are binaries!
As any file created on Windows, you could see its evil signature at end of lines.
I wanna wash them today.

The archives have now been updated from last night's build. I'd especially like to know if the FreeBSD version boots.

Boots on my setup!
The only major thing that doesnt work is hdtoolbox. It takes 30 sec to find my ata.device and is not capable of creating any table. That has been an issue for some month of nightly now. Anybody else has the problem?
However, I dont know if the drive is faulty. Its the secondary hd (udma I think) with a S-ata as a primary.
Ill test some more after work.

The snapshot runs fine under OpenSuSE 10.0.

The only thing I found is that "make development" does not work. I got an error that fork could not resolved while building findutils.

Nevertheless, the system compiled fine (with gcc-3.3.6).

Best regards

Make development didn't work here either. The rest of the system built fine.

I am experiencing some crash bugs with Aircos that I didn't have before...

The snapshot (pc-boot-iso) does not boot on VMWare 4.0.5. It crashes the VM while booting (all GRUB options) with following message:

VMware Workstation unrecoverable error: (vcpu-0)
NOT_IMPLEMENTED F(554):2110

If someone wants to review the vmware.log, let me know. Older snapshots did boot without problems.

works no probs on my old pc.
it does not like the 'Promise ata100' IDE so had to use just normal no probs there.

had no problems with 'hdtoolbox' managed to create what I needed and got it to cold boot from hdd.

I have not had a change to test much more than that... but the one thing that is odd with this pc is that the mouse pointer will not move at all until I use keyboard to move the mouse (ie left-Amiga + arrows) once I have done that I can use the mouse no problems at all.. it is a USB mouse with usb legasy suport enabled..
also the scroll wheel on the mouse does not seem to do anything anymore.. ( I seem to remember it working at some point)

not sure if this is ust symptoms of my PC or the build..
