Hi,
I commited the first change set that allow integration of 2D and 3D nouveau drivers. From tomorrows nightly (if it works ;), the following things change: a) you will no longer get nVidia 3D acceleration under VESA mode b) you need to be running nouveau 2D driver to have 3D hardware acceleration c) for GeForce 1-4 there is no hardware 3D acceleration, software acceleration will be provided d) for GeForce 5 and above hardware 3D acceleration is provided and should work I tested this on my GF 6200 and .... GF 8400 - yes, this means starting from tomorrow hardware 3D acceleration for GeForce 8 and above should work! Please test and let me know the results. NOTES: a) this is initial integration version - it might be unstable when using 3D apps b) nothing changed in 2D speed c) if you wish to use this with old installation you need to copy: DEVS:Drivers/nouveau2d.hidd, gallium.hidd, softpipe.hidd as well as LIBS:mesa.library. This approach however was not tested and might not work! Better use a full nightly.
