Just my 2 cents: the only sexy side of this item would be the ability to run any .d64 game out there, and not only the ones included in the flash 'rom' coming with the device.

Unluckily, it seems it would only play the included games as it is not clear whether you will be allowed to use one of the USB ports to connect a pendrive and read its contents, or not. I wouldn't be optimist.

I can understand that this choice would 'automatically' condone piracy, so any producer/distributor might be scared about possible legal actions. But there's absolutely no point in allowing the use of a keyboard 'to code your games in BASIC like on the real C64', if you can't save them anywhere too.

After all, it's just another linux-powered ARM SoC based toy, so there will surely be a way to hack it. If we hacked the C64 DTV back then, we'll be surely able to change the games on this as well.

With regards to running everything our hearts desire, i have my hopes up just as the nes classic mini which was 'hacked'..

Otherwise it would be pointless indeed.

It is most likely that it would be another arm soc, so a pi or similar would suffice as well. In that regards you would only buy a nice casing (If you like it, that is)

It is a bit weird in my experience though: nes mini, snes mini, atari-box, vampire, and now a 64. Should we relive our childhood or something ?

Not that i would object because many of the games (although graphically perhaps not very appealing anymore) had much better game-play and well-thought design/implementation then some of the modern games nowadays...

... before we know it, a centralized server on/from which you run your applications becomes hot again and... oh... wait

Small update for the indieGO!

The last one was more Amiga-related while this one includes a requested fix from an Amigan : )
