Hi,

have been lurking and using aros for a fair number of years in an on/off fashion..

now suddenly I decided to code a game for aros & discovered a little problem called murksIDE..

(okay its not terible but it leaves a lot to be desired..
its 2010 and aros needs an IDE with these features)

1. syntax highlighting.
2. TAB key that works
3. use of monospaced font (keep things indented and looking neat)
4. proper project managment,
5. support for GDB.
6. Proper capture console.
7. more nice features.

And so my own IDE is born codenamed Ganymede..

more news to follow soon, i just thought I should introduce it and myself incase we run into difficulties and need some assistance..

I know this is an AROS forum, but will this by any chance be compatible with 68k, OS4 or MorphOS? If we could share a native IDE between platforms, and facilitate builds for each platform, where possible, this would go a long way towards the holy grail of cross-platform development. CubicIDE is currently the only modern IDE I know of that works on all platforms through 68k emulation.
Will your IDE be open source?
Will you charge for your IDE?

@proto

Well, considered that Murks!IDE is open source that means it can be modified from a competent developer, so why do not customise it a bit to fit your needs?

@Proto

Welcome and good luck with the IDE, I for one would love to have a better IDE, I am used to Visual Studio so I have ignore Murks. I finf it is just better to use an editor for my little projects, I use Annotate by the way.

Good luck with your Project!
Of course I would have liked more, if you would have added some the suggested features to Murks...

Here is the Sourceforge Adress by the way.
