Posted by paolone on 2013/1/3 16:03:07 (3843 reads)

on my system that run Icaros 1.4.5 very well, don't work 1.5.
so, it run only in Legacy Vesa.
My GTS 250 nvidia is not supported with 1.5.

i tryed Legacy LKE but don't start from Live DVD.

Mountfile 'AROS Live CD:Devs/DosDrivers/PIPEFS' is invalid: wrong number of arguments

Mountfile 'AROS Live CD:Devs/DosDrivers/XPIPE' is invalid: wrong number of arguments

Recoverable Alert

Please insert volume "PIPEFS" in any drive

and then it load Icaros with Aros-Shell blocked with these errors

CD: Object not found

People with GeForce AND problems:

Please replace the ordinary nouveau.hidd in Devs:Drivers with the one included in Storage/Drivers.

Re: Icaros Desktop 1.5 has been released
Is there any way to upgrade from version 1.4 or do I have to do a clean install?

Re: Icaros Desktop 1.5 has been released
There's NO WAY to do a upgrade from version 1.4. Too many changes, so far:

1) new GRUB not compatible with older one
2) new kernel which is not bootable from older GRUB
3) most programs changed place: overwriting would mess up everything.

the meaning of a new Icaros "point release", anyway, generally is "you've better format and reinstall from scratch".

Strangest thing...

I downloaded the ZIP, double clicked on it in AROS, and it says the archive is empty and there is nothing to extract.

So I tried Unzip via command line and it says that the file can not be found...

...even though it is sitting right in front of me.

I then tried to open it in Windows and Winrar has no issues with it at all.

What could cause this to happen?! So strange!
